It was not kept in the Tanach, but the events leading up to it were prophesied in Daniel chapter 11 as a unique prophecy to Daniel. Daniel also gave a unique prophecy concerning the Servant of God, the true Light. In Daniel 9:25-26, it says that “from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks … Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary.” Daniel is telling us that from the decree to rebuild and restore Jerusalem there will be 483 years. Then Messiah will appear. He will appear and be cut off (die) before the second temple is destroyed.
